How to choose between digital identity providers

To obtainSPID credentials you have to contact one of the digital identity providers authorized  by AgID. 
Find the provider that allows you to complete the registration process in the easiest way for you: all issued credentials have the same validity.
Depending on your needs, you can choose between different methods of recognition and three different levels of security to access online services. 

Activated recognition methods:

  • in person, at the offices of the digital identity providers or public administration counters that have activated a desk procedure or at workstations affiliated with one or more managers to verify your identity. Alternatively, you can proceed at the commercial activities of individuals in agreement with identity managers
  • via webcam, with an operator made available by the identity provider or with an audio-video selfie, along with the payment of a symbolic sum by bank transfer; 
  • with Electronic Identity Card (Carta d'Identità Elettronica/CIE) or electronic passport through the apps of digital identity providers available on smartphones or tablets;  
  • with CIE (Carta d'Identità Elettronica, National Service Card (Carta Nazionale dei Servizi/CNS) or the social security card (Tessera Sanitaria), or with a digital signature with the aid of a reader (such as the smart card) and the relevant pin.

*If you are located abroad (for instance you are an Italian citizen enrolled in AIRE), choose an online method of recognition marked with the EU or world icon.

You can make an appointment at one of the Recognition Points among those available on the national territory, to complete the registration procedure with the identity document you entered in the request and your Health Card.

If you have a recently issued Electronic Identity Card, you can complete the registration completely online and carry out the identification from your smartphone independently using the IDENTIFICA app by Sielte.

Via Public Administration

Some public administrations can help you in the recognition procedure necessary to obtain SPID, by verifying your identity at their offices. You can then choose us to complete the identity verification and obtain SPID.

The cost of a mobile or landline call depends on the telephone operator from which the call is made. service available 24 hours a day to request suspension of credentials and from 8 am to 8 pm, from Monday to Saturday for all other needs.

Via Webcam

You can register directly on the posteid.poste.it website and request SPID online, through the certified mobile phone number associated with Bancoposta or Postepay.

Via CIE, CNS or Digital Signature

If you have an Electronic Identity Card or an National Services Card active or a digital signature, you can complete the registration completely online via a smart card reader to connect to your computer.

Data entry: 10 minutes (5 if you already have the Poste.it credentials).

Via Electronic document (CIE 3.0 or electronic passport)

If you have a recently issued Electronic Identity Card or an Electronic Passport (issued after 2006), you can identify yourself using the PosteID app and complete the registration completely online, from your smartphone-tablet or from your computer.

Data entry: 15 minutes.

Audio-video with bank transfer

If you have a bank account with an Italian IBAN, you can identify yourself using the PosteID app and complete the registration completely online, from your smartphone / tablet or from your computer.

Following the registration procedure, you will be asked to make a € 1 transfer from an account in your name to complete the identification. The amount of € 1 will be fully and automatically returned to you

Via Public Administration

Some public administrations can help you in the recognition procedure necessary to obtain SPID, by verifying your identity at their offices. You can then choose us to complete the identity verification and obtain SPID.

In person

You can make an appointment at the Namirial office in Senigallia (AN), Via Caduti del Lavoro 4, calling the number 071/63494 and complete the registration procedure with an operator.

Audio-video with bank transfer

Start an autonomous video in which you give your personal details and show your Italian ID and social security number (la tessera Sanitaria), or alternatively the tax code card (il tesserino del codice fiscale). In the video do not forget to read the security code that will be sent to you by Lepida. You will then be asked to make a symbolic bank transfer (from ten cents to a free offer) as an additional measure for identity theft protection. The total amount of the transfer is donated to charity on the account of the Civil Protection of the Emilia Romagna Region.

You can make an appointment at the Intesa (An IBM Company) office in Turin, in Strada Pianezza 289, to complete the registration procedure with an operator.

The differences between the three security levels

Each service requires access with a certain security level. Be sure to choose a provider that ensures the level of security you need:

  • level 1, allows access with username and password;
  • level 2, allows access with SPID level 1 credentials and the generation of a temporary OPT access code (one time password) or the use of an APP accessible from smartphone or tablet;
  • level 3, allows access with SPID credentials and the use of additional security solutions and any physical devices (e.g. smart card) that are granted by the identity provider.
